Ballard High School Principal

Ballard Community School District is looking for a dynamic leader to serve as HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL.  Grundmeyer Leader Services is assisting the district in filling this important position. Qualified candidates will:
● Possess or be eligible for an Iowa Professional Administrator License
o PK-12 Principal
o PK-12 Special Education Supervisor
● Iowa BoEE Evaluator Approval
● Have experience leading in a Professional Learning Community
● Have experience with standards referenced grading and instructional frameworks
● Possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess strong leadership required to lead improvement in the areas of instruction, equity, and student programs
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in building relationships with students, staff, and community
● Demonstrate the ability to utilize, analyze and interpret data for decision making

Ballard Community School District serves the central Iowa communities of Cambridge, Huxley, Kelley, and Slater.  The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1,700 students and growing.  The district has an optimal location midway between Ames and Ankeny on the I-35 corridor. 
 
The district has four schools:
  • Ballard West Elementary School
    • located in Slater
    • grades K-2
    • Iowa School Performance Rating - EXCEPTIONAL
  • Ballard East Elementary School
    • located in Cambridge
    • grades 3-5
    • Iowa School Performance Rating - EXCEPTIONAL
  • Ballard Middle School
    • located in Huxley
    • grades 6-8
    • Iowa School Performance Rating - HIGH PERFORMING
  • Ballard High School
    • located in Huxley
    • grades 9-12
    • Iowa School Performance Rating - HIGH PERFORMING
Ballard Community School District is known statewide for its outstanding academic performance.  The school also offers a full complement of very successful co/extra-curricular activities for its students.
